Wadhurst sits high on the ridge between Kent and Sussex, in the middle of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a village with a mainline station, which is why so many of the large houses around it belong to families who work in London and live here properly rather than at weekends.
Almost every pool here runs on a heat pump
This is rural Sussex, largely off mains gas, so pools are heated by air-source or solar systems. They warm slowly and they struggle in a cold snap, which makes the water temperature far less controllable than in town. We plan around what your system can actually hold rather than what the dial says.
The pool is usually a long way down the drive
Houses sit in their own land here, often several hundred metres off the lane and shared with horses. Tell us where to park and which gate to use, and the first lesson starts on time rather than ten minutes late.
These are full-time houses, not weekend ones
Wadhurst station runs direct to Charing Cross in about an hour, so families here live in Sussex and commute rather than escaping at weekends. After-school and early-evening slots matter more here than they do deeper into the countryside, and we hold them.
