Ages 3 to 14+ One-to-One Coaching Your Home Space No Waiting Lists London & Hertfordshire

Why At Home

The Waiting List
Solved.

Group gymnastics classes across London and the Home Counties carry waiting lists of six to eighteen months. By the time a place comes up, your child is older, their interest has often shifted, and the class itself is shared with twenty other children. Private at-home gymnastics lessons close that gap entirely — a fully qualified gymnastics coach arrives at your address, the session is one-to-one, and your child receives the attention they would never get in a group of twenty.

Sessions cover floor work, tumbling, acrobatic skills and conditioning. Where your home space allows, we can introduce beginner bar or beam work. Every session is tailored to your child's current level — nervous first-timer, returning club gymnast, or aspiring competitor.

Every Session Covers

What Your Child
Will Learn.

Foundation

Body Control & Shapes

Tucks, pikes, straddles, dish and arch shapes. The basic vocabulary of gymnastics that underpins every more advanced skill.

Floor Work

Forward & Backward Rolls

Safe rolling technique, handstand-forward-roll progressions, cartwheels and round-offs. Built up gradually with full spotting.

Tumbling

Handstands & Cartwheels

Handstand kick-up, hold, walks and exit, leading into cartwheels and round-off entries. The cornerstone of artistic gymnastics.

Acrobatic

Bridges & Walkovers

Bridge hold, bridge kick-over, front and back walkovers. Introduced once flexibility and strength foundations are in place.

Strength

Conditioning

Core strength, shoulder stability, flexibility and balance work tailored to your child. The least exciting part — and the part that prevents injury.

Equipment

Beam & Bar Basics

Where space and equipment allow, beginner bar and beam work can be introduced. We will advise on home-friendly equipment if you wish.

Who It's For

From Curious Toddler
To Aspiring Gymnast.

Our youngest gymnasts start at age three with playful introductions to shapes, balance and rolling. From four to seven, sessions develop into structured floor work. Eight to fourteen is the prime age for tumbling and acrobatic progressions — whether for fun, for fitness, or as supplementary training to a club programme.

Teenagers are welcome too. Many come to us because they missed the early-club window but want to learn handstands, walkovers and basic tumbling now — in private, without the awkwardness of joining a class of much younger children.

Ages 3 to 7 — foundation skills and shapes
Ages 8 to 14 — tumbling and acrobatic progression
Teenagers — private adult-style gymnastics coaching
Club-trained gymnasts — supplementary one-to-one work

Common Questions

Private Gymnastics
FAQs.

Do I need a dedicated gymnastics space at home?
No. The coach brings safety matting suitable for floor work, tumbling and acrobatic skills. The most useful spaces are a clear living-room area, a flat lawn or a home gym. We will discuss your specific space at the point of booking and confirm what is workable.
What qualifications does the gymnastics coach hold?
All our gymnastics coaches hold the relevant British Gymnastics coaching qualification (typically Level 2 or above), carry enhanced DBS clearance and full public liability insurance, and have been personally interviewed and reference-checked by SwimFitz. We share credentials with you before any session is confirmed.
My child is on a club waiting list — can private sessions bridge the gap?
Yes — this is one of the most common reasons families come to us. A weekly one-to-one at home keeps your child progressing, builds the foundations a club will expect, and means that when the place comes up, your child enters with confidence and skill rather than starting at the bottom.
My child already trains at a club. Can private lessons help?
Often, yes. A one-to-one session each week lets a club gymnast focus on weak skills, work through specific blocks (the classic back walkover, the round-off rebound) and condition without competing for coach attention with twenty other gymnasts.
Is gymnastics safe at home?
When delivered by a qualified coach, with proper matting and within the limits of the home environment, yes. Our coaches will never attempt skills the space cannot safely accommodate. Pre-session risk assessment is part of every coach's protocol.
Can teenagers learn gymnastics from scratch?
Yes. We coach teenagers regularly — from total beginners wanting to learn handstands and cartwheels through to those preparing for performing arts auditions or cheer trials. Private one-to-one is in many ways the ideal format for teenagers, who often prefer to learn without a group audience.
