Learn to Swim

Water entry, floating, breath control and your first strokes. We build from zero with absolute patience. Most adults complete a full 25m length within 6–10 sessions.

Water Confidence

If you've had a bad experience or developed anxiety around water, we specialise in rebuilding confidence slowly, safely and at your pace. No pressure, no rushing.

Level: Intermediate

Stroke Development

You can swim but want to improve. We'll video-analyse your technique, correct inefficiencies and add the strokes and drills that make a real difference to your speed and endurance.

Technique & Efficiency

For regular swimmers who want to swim faster, further and with less effort. We work on stroke rate, catch mechanics, turns and distance per stroke.

For non-swimmers: water entry, floating, breath control, kicking and your first full strokes. For improvers: technique deconstruction, stroke correction and endurance building. Equivalent to 3–4 months of weekly lessons.

I'm a complete non-swimmer — is it too late to learn?
Absolutely not. We regularly teach adults who have never swum before, including those in their 50s, 60s and beyond. The private home pool environment removes almost every barrier that holds adults back in group settings. It is never too late to learn to swim.
I'm nervous or anxious around water. Can you help?
This is one of our specialisms. Adult aquaphobia is more common than people think, and private lessons in your own pool — where you control the environment — are far more effective than group classes for anxious adults. We work at your pace without any pressure whatsoever.
How many sessions will I need to learn to swim from scratch?
Most adult non-swimmers can complete a 25m length within 6–10 weekly sessions, and many do it in fewer with an intensive crash course. Every adult is different — we'll give you a realistic assessment after your first session.
I can already swim — can you improve my technique?
Yes. Technique work is a large part of what we do with adult swimmers. Common issues include a high-drag body position, a dropped elbow catch, inefficient kicking and poor bilateral breathing. One or two sessions of focused technique correction can make a dramatic difference to speed and efficiency.
Do I need my own pool for adult lessons?
Yes — SwimFitz lessons are private home-pool sessions. If you have a pool at your property, we come to you. If you don't have your own pool, ask about our recommendations for local private pool hire options in your area.
How long are adult sessions?
Adult sessions are 45 or 60 minutes depending on your preference and goals. For crash course programmes, we recommend 60 minutes per session to maximise the value of the intensive block.
