East Sussex north of the Downs is High Weald country: an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of narrow lanes, deep valleys and houses that sit in their own acreage. It holds one of the higher concentrations of private garden pools in the south east, and almost none of them are within easy reach of a swimming lesson unless someone comes to you.
The practical picture here differs from London or the Cotswolds. Pools are largely outdoors, heated by air-source or solar systems rather than mains gas, and they have a season rather than a year. Teaching well in the High Weald means planning around the water you actually have, not the water you would like.
