The Pool

Thirty Metres, The Longest We Teach In

One Thames City has a 30-metre indoor pool, set in a wellness centre on the river side of Nine Elms. It is for residents and their households — there is no club membership to buy and no outside booking system to work around, which is exactly why lessons here are straightforward once the building has approved the coach.

Getting Started

Approved, Then Straight In The Water

We already teach in private residents’ pools across London, including The Broadway, Valencia Tower and Park Modern.

We are set up to work in One Thames City’s 30-metre pool. Ask your concierge or managing agent to add us to the approved contractor list — our insurance certificate, enhanced DBS checks, coaching qualifications and a risk assessment written for your pool come straight over, usually the same day.

SwimFitz also coaches at private pools in houses across London.

What your managing agent receives

Public liability insurance certificate
Enhanced DBS check for every coach attending
Swimming teaching qualifications and current CPD
A risk assessment written for One Thames City’s pool
Emergency procedure, agreed with your concierge
Named coach — the same face at the desk each week

In The Water

What A Session Looks Like

Your coach signs in at the desk a few minutes early and is on the poolside when your swimmer arrives, so the session starts in the water rather than in a changing room. Lessons run 30 or 60 minutes depending on age and stamina, and the 30-metre length means there is room for proper full-length sets once a swimmer is ready for them.

Because it is the same pool every week, at the same temperature, with the same walls to push off, progress is quicker than it tends to be for swimmers moving between public pools. Familiarity does a lot of the work, particularly for nervous swimmers and young children.

Every lesson includes

One-to-one coaching for the full session
All equipment brought in and taken away again
A verbal progress update before your coach leaves
Session and awards logged in the SwimFitz app
No subscription, no contract
Free to cancel or move with 48 hours’ notice

How It Works

Four Steps

01

Tell Us Your Building

Enquire and say you are a resident at One Thames City. We confirm coverage and availability, usually within 24 hours.

02

We Clear It With Management

Insurance, enhanced DBS, qualifications and a risk assessment for your pool go to the concierge or managing agent.

03

Pick A Quiet Slot

We book the hours the leisure floor is least used, so no other resident is sharing the water with a lesson.

04

Your Coach Arrives Equipped

Everything for the session comes with them and leaves with them. Progress is logged in the SwimFitz app after every lesson.

Beyond The Pool

One Vetted Provider

Your own pool, elsewhere

Many residents here also have a house with a pool. The same coach travels, and it is the same record in the app either way.

Questions

One Thames City, Specifically

The residents’ pool is a 30-metre indoor pool. Long enough for full-length stroke work as well as beginners.
Babies from six months with a parent in the water, children from three, teenagers, and adults at every level including complete beginners. Each session is one-to-one and planned around the swimmer, not a class.
Yes, and we handle it. Most managing agents keep a list of approved contractors; we send our public liability insurance, enhanced DBS certificates, coaching qualifications and a pool-specific risk assessment to One Thames City’s management, and start once they confirm.
Everything for the lesson comes with the coach — woggles, floats, weights, goggles, toys for the younger children. Nothing is left behind and nothing is stored in the building. The leisure floor only needs to be open and the water at its usual temperature.
Whenever the pool is quietest, which in most buildings means mid-morning or early afternoon on weekdays. We deliberately avoid the before-work and after-work peaks so other residents are not sharing the water with a lesson.
Only where the building’s own guest rules allow it, which varies and is the concierge’s call rather than ours. Where guests are permitted we can teach siblings or two families together; otherwise every session is one-to-one with a resident.
