When you book a SwimFitz lifeguard, their only job is the water. They are not running games or teaching anyone to swim. They watch every swimmer from the first one in to the last one out, so nobody at your party has to keep half an eye on the pool.

Our lifeguards are trained to spot trouble early and to act fast when it matters, with the rescue kit at hand from the start.

We confirm how many lifeguards your event needs and send qualifications and insurance documents ahead if you, the venue or an owner needs them.

On the Day

We arrive before the first swimmer, check the pool with you and set out the rescue kit. We stay on poolside until the last guest is out of the water.

Lifeguard Hire FAQs.

Do I need a lifeguard for a pool party at home?
There is no legal requirement for a private home pool, so it comes down to who is coming. If there will be children, guests who are not strong swimmers, a deep end, or simply more people in the water than one host can watch, a lifeguard means someone is always watching the pool while everyone else enjoys the day.
What qualifications do your lifeguards hold?
Every lifeguard holds the RLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or an equivalent pool lifeguard award, a current enhanced DBS certificate, and is covered by our public liability insurance. We are happy to send copies of qualifications and insurance before the day.
How many lifeguards do I need?
It depends on how many people will be in the water at once, their ages and swimming ability, and the size and shape of the pool. Tell us those when you enquire and we will confirm the right cover for your event.
Will the lifeguard run games or teach swimming?
No. A lifeguard booking means eyes on the water for the whole session, nothing else. If you would like a team to run structured games for a children's party as well, see our managed birthday party package.
What do you need from us on the day?
Access to the pool, the water at its usual temperature, and a few minutes on arrival to walk the poolside with you: depths, entry points, where the rescue kit will sit and where the nearest phone is. Let us know your timings and we will be in place before the first guest gets in.
